We as the Faith and VAWG Coalition categorically condemn the racist murder of George Floyd and demand that all who were involved in his death be brought to justice.  We act in solidarity with our sisters and brothers in the United States and the UK who have faced violence and murder in their interactions with the police.

Understanding the Dynamics of Domestic Abuse (two 3 hour blocks over two days)

We know that working with cases of domestic abuse can be challenging, confusing and complex.

This foundation course will introduce you to practical tools to help you recognise, understand and discuss abusive relationships.  A great space to explore and reflect on your practice.

Creating Space For Faith and ‘Race’ in The Coordinated Community Response to Domestic Abuse - Impact Report

The Safety Across Faith and Ethnic (SAFE) Communities project has brought together groups who would not otherwise meet and is the primary source of expertise on the interconnections between VAWG, faith and ethnicity in London.  Hosted by STADV, it has been running since June 2016, with core funding from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation since 2017. SAFE Communities is now entering a transition as it matures and seeks follow-on funding.

At this time, Standing Together Against Domestic Violence recognises the evermore importance of a coordinated community response (CCR) to maximise the safety of those experiencing domestic abuse.  We have been working closely with our partners to develop guidance to ensure we continute to provide the highest level of support.

Standing Together Against Domestic Violence (STADV) has been appointed, by the Domestic Abuse Commissioner’s Office for England and wales, to create a nationwide picture surrounding the commissioning of domestic abuse (DA) services, across every Police and Crime Commissioner office, Local Authority and Clinical Commissioning Group.

It has been announced today that, Standing Together's CEO, Nicole Jacobs has become the UK's first Domestic Abuse Commissioner .  Everyone at Standing Together is delighted and proud of this appointment and wish Nicole every success in her new role.

November 25th every year marks the United Nations day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.  At Standing Together Against Domestic Violence, we use this time of year to celebrate the strength of women who have survived VAWG, or supported someone who has.
