Standing together against domestic violence

'[Standing Together] makes a huge contribution towards ensuring survivors of domestic violence receive the coordinated support they need in Hammersmith and Fulham.  By working to ensure organisations work together and not in isolation they add value, with the sum of organisation’s efforts together being so much more than the sum of each part .....  Also particularly notable are the meetings organised by [Standing Together] for domestic violence services offering culturally specific services. These offered an invaluable opportunity for Refuge to communicate the specific needs of Eastern European women to other professionals'

Local Partnership

Our local success is based on the collective efforts of all our partners. Standing Together play a crucial role in driving and supporting integrated working, but the overall success of our local response relies on every agency working effectively and collaboratively. The core partnership consists of 5 themed working groups and a Strategic Group; the themed working groups ensure delivery of key operational projects and the Strategic Group has overall responsibility for setting the partnership priorities and monitoring performance on the borough Action Plan.

The Hammersmith and Fulham Domestic Violence Partnership Model

The partnership has representatives from voluntary and statutory agencies all with a duty to provide services and an interest in improving responses to anyone affected by domestic violence in the borough.  Survivors’ and practitioners’ perspectives are captured by the operational groups and, as such, influence the strategic priorities.  The chairs and coordinators, of each operational group, are responsible for reporting progress by their working group to the Strategic Group meetings, as well as supporting a two-way flow of communication by updating their operational groups on any relevant strategic developments or issues.

The Hammersmith and Fulham Domestic Violence Partnership Action Plan

The Strategic Group is tasked with coordinating and monitoring the effective implementation of the borough's Domestic Violence Action Plan 2012-2015. Performance indicators and priority tasks for the action plan are established, in consultation with members of each Operational Group.

The 2011-14 LBHF Action Plan is in the final stages of consultation and will be published on this website shortly.

“In my view, Standing Together exemplifies the benefits of effective Partnership working. Criminal justice issues are raised in a constructive, yet collegiate environment and the level of representation and commitment is such that information is shared, and action taken, where necessary, to the benefit of our joint working arrangements”
