Jo Choi appointed Interim Chief Executive Officer of Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse

Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse (STADA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jo Choi as Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

Moving from her role as STADA’s Chief Operating Officer, Jo brings a depth of expertise in coordinated community responses, system leadership and organisational development. Her appointment comes at a pivotal moment, with the publication of the Government’s Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Strategy and renewed focus on whole-system action to prevent harm and save lives.

As Interim CEO, Jo will lead STADA’s work to support partners across the sector, local and national government to translate national ambition into effective, trauma-informed responses on the ground.

Commenting on her appointment, Jo Choi, Interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of STADA, said:

“I’m proud to step into the role of Interim CEO at such a critical time. The recognition of violence against women and girls as a national emergency, and the emphasis on coordinated, whole-system responses, closely reflects what survivors and practitioners have been telling us for years. I’m looking forward to continue to work closely with partners in collaboration to turn all our efforts into meaningful change.”

Tabitha Morton, Chair of the Board of Trustees, added:

“Jo brings exceptional leadership, clarity and integrity to this role. Her deep understanding of coordinated community responses, combined with her commitment to survivor-centred practice, makes her ideally placed to lead STADA during this important period. The Board has full confidence in Jo as Interim CEO and looks forward to supporting her as the organisation continues to strengthen its impact.”

STADA remains committed to working alongside survivors, practitioners, policymakers and partners to drive coordinated responses that improve safety, accountability and long-term outcomes for those experiencing domestic abuse.
