Seeking Trustees
Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse
Voluntary role | Remote | UK wide
Domestic abuse is often hidden in plain sight. When systems fail, survivors and their children pay the price.
Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse exists to change that.
We are a national charity working to end domestic abuse and violence against women and girls by changing the systems that shape people’s lives. We focus on prevention, partnership and long-term system change, supporting professionals across housing, health, policing, social care and the voluntary sector to work together more effectively.
Our nationally recognised Coordinated Community Response approach has influenced policy and practice across the UK, helping to create safer, more accountable and survivor centred systems.
We stand with survivors. We stand for justice. We stand together for change.

The Opportunity
We are looking for up to three new Trustees to join our Board at an important moment in our journey.
This is an opportunity to use your experience, insight and judgement to influence national systems, strengthen governance and support an organisation working at the forefront of domestic abuse prevention and long-term system change.
You will join a committed, values led Board and work closely with the Chair, Chief Executive and leadership team to support strategic direction, organisational resilience and sustainable impact.
Who we are looking for
We are actively seeking people who bring a wide range of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We believe our work is stronger when decisions are shaped by different lived realities, and when voices that are often missing from decision making spaces are genuinely heard. Building a Board that reflects the communities we serve matters to us, and we welcome applications from people who are currently underrepresented in charity governance.
We are also looking for Trustees who bring a mix of skills, perspectives and judgement, and who are motivated to use their voice and influence to help drive meaningful, long term system change.
We are particularly interested in people with experience in one or more of the following:
Charity governance, regulation or Board effectiveness (including risk management, legal, finance and safeguarding)
Government policy, public sector systems or national advocacy
Fundraising, including trusts and foundations, statutory funding or income diversification
Leading or supporting organisations through transition, especially funding or structural change
Statutory contracts, commissioning and contract management
Corporate membership, partnerships or private sector engagement
Experience in policy creation, delivery or commissioning of services in Health, Housing and Ending VAWG
Marketing and communications strategy and delivery
Trustees will be required to complete a Disclosure and Barring Service check in line with Charity Commission guidance
